• Guarantee patients’ choice regarding plans and doctors;
• Ensure quality, affordable coverage for all Americans.

Our Mission

The mission of the Health Committee is to inform our communities of health-relate4d services and concerns.  To become informed, the committee conducts visits to local health organizations, clinics, hospitals and government officials.  The committee also hosts Public  Information Meetings on topics impacting community health services and prepares articles for The Voter on relevant health topics.

Recent programs include:

• a Salute to Nursing Past and Present, co-sponsored with Stonybrook Southampton Hospital and the Rogers Memorial Library
• End of Life Choices and Decisions
• a forum on drinking water
• a presentation on Single Payer Health Insurance

Articles in The Voter were on such topics as:

• Organ Donation
• Immunization
• Health Insurance
• Cancer Support Programs
• Behavioral Health programs
• Tick-Bourne diseases
• Hospice Care
