About the LWV of the Hamptons, Shelter Island & the North Fork
The League of Women Voters of the Hamptons, Shelter Island and the North Fork (LWVH/SI/NF) is a grassroots, non-partisan, political organization. As a non-partisan organization, we neither support nor oppose any political party or candidate for elective office. As a political organization, we study and advocate on issues important to voters, we educate the public about the issues and the candidates running for public office, we hold candidate debates and we encourage citizens to fully take part in the political process.
The League of Women Voters encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. Part of the pleasure of belonging to LWVH is participating as a group in community activities.
